At the Tennessee Primary Care Association (TPCA), our work has always been rooted in our mission: supporting community health centers as they deliver high-quality, compassionate care across the state. That’s why we’re proud to welcome Angel Moore, Esq. as our new Chief Executive Officer, a leader whose passion for this work is both deeply personal and profoundly lived.
A Personal Commitment to Community Health
Angel’s journey in community health is shaped by her own lived experience. After facing a health crisis at a young age while uninsured, she became a patient herself, an experience that continues to inform her perspective today. That connection has evolved into a calling grounded in service and purpose. “It’s a form of giving back… it’s ministry to me, too. It’s faith in action,” she says.
From the Front Lines to Statewide Leadership
With nearly two decades of experience working within a community health center, Angel brings a powerful, firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities health centers face every day. “There’s nothing like being on the ground every single day serving patients,” she explains. “Working within a health center is transformative. It changes your life.”
After 17 years immersed in direct service and leadership, stepping into her role at TPCA felt like a natural next step—one that allows her to amplify that impact across the entire state.
A Vision Centered on Support and Advocacy
As CEO, Angel is focused on ensuring that TPCA is a strong, responsive partner to every member organization. “I want members to feel like the first place they can go for help, or the first phone call they make is to their association,” she says. “Being a voice, a mouthpiece, and advocating is key.”
Her vision includes strengthening support systems for health centers, expanding services through partnerships and funding opportunities, and continuing to elevate the voices of Tennessee’s community health centers at every level.
Just as importantly, she sees TPCA as a connector—bringing people, ideas, and resources together to better serve communities.
A Lifetime of Service
Angel’s leadership is rooted in a lifelong commitment to serving others. Raised by parents who were deeply involved in ministry and community service, she learned early on the importance of giving back. “Only what you do for others really has the lasting effect… the legacy of who you are,” Angel shares.
That belief continues to guide her approach today, one defined by compassion, action, and leadership. “This role symbolizes the deep passion and love for people that I have inside,” she says. “An opportunity to serve relentlessly and demonstrate leadership from the front.”
Looking Ahead
As TPCA enters this next chapter, Angel’s leadership brings both experience and heart to the work ahead. Her vision reflects what has always made community health centers so special: a deep commitment to people, community, and service.
With Angel Moore at the helm, TPCA is well-positioned to continue strengthening and supporting Tennessee’s health centers.
