Train New Trainers (TNT) Primary Care –
Training and Education in Addiction Medicine
(PC-TEAM) Fellowship
The TNT PC-TEAM Fellowship is a one-year training program designed for primary care providers working in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Pediatrics. It targets MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs.
Participants will learn to:
- Complete an evidence-informed substance use screening in busy primary care or other general medical settings.
- Effectively prevent, diagnose, and treat commonly encountered substance use and pain-related disorders (e.g., opioids, alcohol, stimulants, and benzodiazepines).
- Teach these principles to their primary care colleagues
TNT PC-TEAM Fellowship Training Schedule
The curriculum includes over 50 hours of training and will lead to a certificate of completion from the UC Irvine School of Medicine
- Cohort runs March 1, 2025 - February 28, 2026
- Two-weekend intensive trainings (24-28 class hours)

Essentials to Primary Care Addiction Medicine Conference 2025
- August 8-9, 2025 | Location TBD
PC-TEAM Fellows Conference
- Live webinars via Zoom each month (21 class hours)
- 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month from 2:00-3:00 PM Central / 3:00-4:00 PM Eastern
- At least one hour per month of mentoring sessions with a PC-TEAM faculty member
(11 hours)
- Complimentary career-long learning for alumni
