This learning experience will help you strengthen decision‑making, assess patient risk, use mindful communication techniques, and develop safer management plans for complex cases.

  • Apply a structured decision framework before initiating or continuing opioids

  • Systematically assess patient risk for opioid-related harm

  • Use mindful, motivational interviewing approaches when discussing opioid therapy

  • Develop a safer opioid management plan for complex cases
