Mercy Community Healthcare has a position open for a full-time Behavioral Health Consultant at our Franklin location. Applicants must be a licensed LMFT, LPC-MHSP or LCSW. We are looking for a therapist with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those we serve in our community and upholding our faith-based mission. 
  
The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) is a key member of the primary care delivery team at Mercy Community Healthcare. The BHC serves an essential function of the Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH), and practices using the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model. Embedded and fully integrated as part of routine care, BHCs function as generalists and consultants and will provide direct care, as well as scaffold the patient’s care team for prevention and intervention services across the lifespan.

      

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Services:
  • Provide high quality, culturally sensitive health services that are in line with organizational productivity expectations.
  • Provide brief behavioral health assessment and intervention services for patients across the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults) who present with a broad range of psychopathology, substance misuse, and health compromising behaviors contributing to chronic medical conditions.

  • Facilitate group-based cognitive-behavioral and psychoeducational interventions, including possible involvement in curriculum development.  
      
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work with the primary care team to refer patients to community providers and services when appropriate, and support patients during transition
  • Provide timely patient care and prompt feedback to referring primary care providers and other allied health personnel (such as psychiatry and counseling) to facilitate holistic and comprehensive healthcare within an integrated primary care setting.
  • Provide education to physicians and other medical staff regarding behavioral health standards of care for mental health conditions and the management of psychosocial aspects of chronic medical conditions, ethical practice, and psychopharmacology where appropriate.
  • Actively participate in meetings and trainings that support Mercy’s integrated health care model to provide comprehensive care for clients. 
 
Quality, Fidelity, & Documentation Oversight:
  • Ensure documentation meets HRSA, TennCare, insurance, and Mercy standards such as accuracy, timeliness, and quality.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits, as needed.

  • Model Christ-centered leadership characterized by humility, compassion, and integrity.
  • Support ethical, culturally sensitive faith integration when desired by patients.
  • Help maintain a supportive, mission-aligned team culture.                                   
   
Other duties as assigned.

  

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  •  Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology or related field required. Must be licensed in TN in one of the following disciplines: LMFT, LPC-MHSP, LCSW, etc.
  • One year post graduate work experience with youth and their families in a clinical setting and/or post graduate work experience in the treatment of addictions preferred. Must be able to be contracted with most insurance payers. The position includes risk of exposure to communicable diseases; therefore, the therapist must receive training on/and then practice universal health precautions.

Annual Salary:

  • $70,000 plus bonus plan
