TPCA Board of Directors Names Libby Thurman as CEO​

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Primary Care Association’s (TPCA) Board of Directors has named Libby Thurman as its Chief Executive Officer. Thurman has been operating as Interim CEO since February 2021.
 
“Libby brings exceptional commitment to the significant role community health centers play in providing access to care to this position,” says Shantelle Leatherwood, President of the TPCA Board of Directors. “She understands the challenges we face and is uniquely suited to advance the work of TPCA’s membership. We look forward to her leadership as CEO.”
 
Thurman joined the Association in 2011 as the health policy director. From 2018 to 2020, she served in the role of chief external affairs officer, specializing in health policy, engaging key stakeholders in the work of Tennessee health centers, and leading strategic initiatives. Prior to joining TPCA, Thurman worked in the areas of policy analysis and research at the Tennessee Housing Development Agency and the Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations. She has a B.A. from Samford University, an M.A. in Sociology from Middle Tennessee State University and an M.A. in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University.
