TPCA is proud to present the eight-hour buprenorphine waiver training course required for physicians interested in seeking their waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in the treatment of opioid use disorders. This event is sponsored by the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry. It will take place March 8, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Central time. Participants must be able to stay the entire duration of the event to receive credit.

Who Should Attend
Waivers can only be obtained directly by physicians at this time. Residents may take the course and apply for their waiver when they receive their full medical license. Physician assistants (PAs) and advance practice registered nurses (APRNs) are also encouraged to take the course and apply for a waiver once the regulations are promulgated from the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA).

About the Training
Buprenorphine waiver training is available for physicians interested in seeking their waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in the treatment of opioid use disorders. To obtain the waiver to prescribe, providers are required to take eight hours of training. Following trainings, physicians who have successfully completed the course, may apply to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to obtain the waiver. PCSS-MAT urges all physicians who complete the course to submit a Notice of Intent Form to SAMHSA to obtain your waiver to prescribe. The waiver must be completed online and a link to the online form will be provided to participants following the training. PCSS-MAT has a comprehensive library of materials available at no cost created to give physicians confidence in treating these complex patients. PCSS-MAT has a no-cost clinical coaching/mentoring program to provide one-on-one expert help to primary care providers.

Lunch is provided but breakfast is on your own. Click here for a list of nearby hotels.
