Hiring Practices in Rural Communities (May 13)
Rural communities are often challenged in maintaining an effective health workforce, making it hard to provide necessary patient care or to meet staffing requirements. Rural healthcare facilities should, therefore, be proactive and strategic regarding recruiting and retaining staff. The recruitment process should aim to attract current health professionals and students to open positions or future positions. Employee retention strategies should focus on keeping healthcare professionals working in their facilities and communities.
