The Community Tool Box - The Work Group for Community Health and Development at the University of Kansas has created a series of steps to help in the process of promoting community change and improvement. The resource is The Community Tool Box -- its mission is promoting community health and development by connecting people, ideas and resources. Resources include: How to create and maintain coalitions and partnerships; access community needs and resources; analyze problems and goals; develop a framework or model of change; develop strategic and action plans; build leadership; develop an intervention; increase participation and membership; enhance cultural competence; advocate for change; influence policy development; evaluate the initiative; implement a social marketing effort; write a grant application for funding; improve organizational management and development; sustain the work or initiative.
