TPCA is pleased to offer our members a variety of distance learning training modules and archived recordings from past training opportunities. We anticipate this section of our website to grow in the coming months. Here are our current offerings:

Training Modules offered in cooperation with AHEC
Each module is a self-paced educational experience that will allow participants to gain CME credits for the Diabetic Foot Exam and Preceptor Tool modules upon proper completion. Participants are required to complete the evaluation at the end of the modules.
What is a Community Health Center?©
This is a great introduction to health centers. This module is for anyone who would like to know more about Community Health Centers and the work they do.
Conducting a Diabetic Foot Exam©
This module is for Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and other clinicians to reduce the risk of amputations related to diabetes. The benefits of a foot exam include:
a. Early identification of the high risk diabetic foot;
b. Early diagnosis of foot problems;
c. Early intervention to prevent further deterioration that may lead to amputation;
d. Patient education for proper care of the feet and proper foot wear.
Accreditation renewal for .5 prescribed credit from the American Academy of Family Physicians is in progress. If you need CME for this course, please check back in a few weeks. The evaluation and CME section at the end of the module is a two step process - 1) you will answer a series of questions and the program will direct you to submit them in an email and 2) you will answer another set of questions and the program will direct you to mail the results to the TPCA Office, but emailing to denise@tnpca.org is acceptable as well. We will email you directions on how to obtain CME credit when we receive the evaluation.
Preceptor Tools©
Any clinician that precepts health professions students will benefit from the information found in this course. The module contains tips on time management, best practices in teaching, and lessons in providing constructive feedback to the learner. It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
